KIND SURF

SURFING AS THERAPY FOR CHILDREN IN DISADVANTAGED SITUATIONS
The NGO Kind Surf was created in 2012 to altruistically dedicate our work to children in disadvantaged situations, using Surf as a therapy to improve their lives. Aritz Aranburu is an ambassador for Kind Surf. In 2017 Kind Surf, in collaboration with the Mediterranean surf school, managed to launch the first continuity progam with impressive results. Since then we have created smiles, emotions and danced on the waves. The success of the Kind Surf sessions that have been held every year in the 4 Teens championship organized by Aritz, is more than documented. This is another reason why we wanted to go further and also create the continuity program for Shelter Surf.

CONTINUITY PROGRAM

Our continuity program is divided into three calls: spring, summer and autumn. These programs have 1 surf session of 2 hours per week with a duration of 8 weeks per call. We will work with different functional diversities, which in many cases means the ratio of work will be of a student-a teacher / a student-a teacher and an assistant.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you have any doubt?
Para empezar a surfear no es necesario tener una forma física específica, pero sí saber nadar.
Yes, without problem. We offer classes and courses for families.
Our youngest students start surfing in the summer school and the Easter school when they are 3 years old. We play on the shore, we teach them how the sea works and they always catch their first waves with the help of our qualified instructors. They have a great time!
Surfing has no age. It’s never too late to start surfing. We have older students in the school and each one does it at their own pace, so there is nothing to prevent learning to surf at 40, 50 or older.
If you want to enjoy surfing to the fullest, it is convenient to prepare yourself physically beforehand. You can combine your surf sessions with functional training in our gym.
All our monitors speak 3 languages: Basque, Spanish and English.
No. Although the classes are mainly practical, if it is the first time you are going to enter the water, our monitors will give you some basic notions about how the sea works, safety and how you should position yourself on the board. Inside the water, we will teach you to interpret the waves and the sea.
You can book and pay for the class through our website. You can also call us or write to us by Whatsapp 684 45 75 31 to reserve and pay for the class or course at the school.
Call us in advance and do not run out of space. If you want to surf in high season, July and August, you must sign up early. During the rest of the year, you can usually sign up at short notice. Write us by Whatsapp to book your class: 684 45 75 31
Yes it is possible, although it will depend on the availability of groups at that time. If you are interested in joining a group, do not hesitate to call us to find a free slot for you depending on your level. Write us by Whatsapp or call us to reserve your class: 684 45 75 31
Before the class or the course we check the sea conditions. In case there are no waves or there is a sea too big for you, we will find another time to hold the class.
Yes, the complete surf equipment is included in all prices, board and wetsuit. Also civil liability insurance and use of changing rooms and showers.
We have winter and summer surf suits. In July and August there are clients who prefer to surf without wetsuits and only use lycra and swimsuits. We always provide wetsuit to our clients, it is included in the price of the surf course.
Of course. If you already have your own wetsuit, it is recommended that you use your own, as it will likely fit better than a school wetsuit that has a standard shape to fit people with different body shapes.
